Sunday floral/roadkill report
Jul. 3rd, 2022 01:00 pmFirst Canada thistles blooming in town, bellflowers, Queen Anne's lace, and what was most likely the earliest purple loosestrife. Dammit. We also have the first bloom in our isolated day-lily patch, which seems to be the same variety of orange and just delayed by environmental conditions.
Dead skunk in the road, not middle, over by the old Bomarc site. Not-roadkill, killdeer in a parking lot near the airbase. Wasn't doing the call and wing-drag routine, so I'll assume the brood wasn't near enough to need defense.
Got out on the bike, just across town and by the airport, C-17 and KC-135 parked in the visitors' lot. Did not die.
