Thursday floral report

New editions -- swamp candles (yellow loosestrife), St. John's wort, and moth mullein adding to the roadside yellow. Curled dock seedheads going tan and brown as the seeds ripen, sumac berries turning reddish.

No fresh roadkill to report. Porcupine corpse dissolving into its component parts, which include quills still capable of giving you a flat tire.

Some clouds looked like they had intent, but I got my bike ride in. Upriver and across the interstate and back through the bog. Did not die.

Couple-dozen day lily blooms today, and the major bank hasn't chimed in yet. The delay makes me wonder if they'll be a different color.
