Rain deficit remains

Air temperature 51 F, wind near calm, mostly cloudy. We are still promised rain tonight into tomorrow, but this seems to be political posturing.

Suspect behavior

A couple of times now, my walk has included a mockingbird that starts singing as I approach a certain point on the next block of our street. Then, when I continue on past, the singing stops a few houses further on. I think he's warning his mate on the nest . . .
