I know that the drought is a real thing, but there's always a Texas-raised part of me that's going, "It isn't a real drought until all the grass is brown and the ground has cracks in it."
But it's all in what's normal, and normal here is a different thing.
(Last winter's snow pack sucked, even though the winter itself hung around for-freaking-ever.)
We've been having wildfires too. Not as big, thank goodness, but it's early spring here: one was stopped by snow (and the firefighters warned that the snow doesn't actually put it out, it's still smouldering under there). Climate change no longer respects the seasons.
