Tuesday floral report
Jul. 21st, 2020 10:29 amFirst monarch butterfly seen. We've agreed that they are self-propelled flowers, right? This one flapped right out in front of me near the cemetery, a good way to become a splatter on any vehicle faster than a bicyclist on a climb.
Other roadkill limited to a couple of gray squirrels and a crow, with no sign of what the crow was after. Not-roadkill, a buteo hawk cruising across a field, vanished before I could make positive ID but probable red-tail.
Not as cool as the weather-beans had prophesied, 79 F, but I got out on the bike anyway. Did not die.
