A little relief
Air temperature 70 F, wind NW about 2 mph, partly cloudy. Dew point 62 F, which is still damp but not as bad as yesterday. Bike ride early, then foraging.

First monarch butterfly seen. We've agreed that they are self-propelled flowers, right? This one flapped right out in front of me near the cemetery, a good way to become a splatter on any vehicle faster than a bicyclist on a climb.
Other roadkill limited to a couple of gray squirrels and a crow, with no sign of what the crow was after. Not-roadkill, a buteo hawk cruising across a field, vanished before I could make positive ID but probable red-tail.
Not as cool as the weather-beans had prophesied, 79 F, but I got out on the bike anyway. Did not die.
