Memorial Day

Air temperature 57 F, wind north about 8 mph, cloudy. Patches of sun now and then. May try to fit a bike ride around the parades and such, hoping I don't get hit by any ceremonial volleys.

Monday roadkill report

One long-hair tortoise-shell kitty in the ditch at about 4 miles into my ride. People -- if you want your pets to live long and prosper, keep them inside . . .

First Canada mayflower blooming, lily of the valley, and yellow stargrass. Ornamental fruit trees getting serious, crab-apple and cherry and plum. Maples and poplars dumping flowers all over.

Temperature, sunshine, and wind allowed a bike ride. Did not die.
