Air temperature 57 F, dew point 57 F, calm, visibility 1/4 mile in fog when I was making breakfast. Clearing off now. Anchor lines on webs glistening, some 20' long or more. Ambitious arachnids.

Some birches starting to turn yellow, sumac mixing red in with the green, more red maples taking their names seriously. Nothing new in the flower department, and even the purple loosestrife is pretty much done blooming.

Roadkill limited to one chipmunk and one red squirrel. Not-roadkill, I heard some wild geese calling as I headed out of town, had a red squirrel dart across the road in front of me, and heard a probable mockingbird singing in the cemetery.

Still damp out there, water district still disrupting my route, but got out on the bike. Did not die.
