Pending doom again

Air temperature 54 F, dew point 53, calm, patchy fog. Drove for the newspaper because I needed to move the car. Today we get La Brea dumped in our sideyard, probably without saber-tooth relics. Then maybe I can get at least one winter without wrestling the snowblower around a mountain range down the middle of our driveway.

Tuesday Godot here report

More asters blooming, including some of the larger white versions, short mullein stalks, this and that and the other thing. Milkweed pods turning yellowish but not splitting yet.

Roadkill limited to one red squirrel and assorted unidentifiable blotches of pavement.

Headed out on the bike before paving crew arrived, got home to find one truck and trailer here but not unloaded. They have now finished and gone with the wind. Cleanup of edges remains . . .

Had to change route a bit because of water district work out near the state hospital. Did not die.
