Air temperature 46 F, scattered clouds, wind light and variable. We've had frost advisories back in the hills. Hopes for a bike ride later.

Personal insults for close allies . . .

One each dead milk snake, hairy woodpecker, and gray squirrel. One red squirrel and one chipmunk attempted to skitter under my tires but retreated in time.

First tansy, wild roses, and raspberries blooming, along with whole fields of buttercups, lupines, and hawkweed. Lilacs winding down.

Temperature warmed up into the middle 50s F, wind a nuisance, but I rode upriver to the next bridge and down the other side. No eagles.

White pines in the neighborhood are showing a lot of flower buds. Pollen attack!
