Foggy

Heavy fog last night, lighter this morning, still enough to slick the asphalt with ice.  Redpolls remain.

We have predictions of temperature above 50 F today, which may mean another bike ride.

Meanwhile, in the metaphorical fog of war, the phone company battle continues:

If I had my druthers, I'd druther they refunded service charges rather than fine the bastards.  However, the PUC may have a mandate to boost state revenues in this "recession" . . .

Yes!  The return of the ever-popular, thrill-packed, suspense-filled Roadkill Report!

One tattered gray squirrel.

But hey, most of the regular cast are still hibernating.

Temperature got up near 50 F, so I got out on the bike and biked.  After chatting with Neighbor, that is, who claims the timing on his truck engine is off 20 degrees and he can't get the distributor bolt loose.  I question that amount of error, because the machine still runs.  Tells you something about the age of the truck, that a timing light will still fill a useful function.  Offered him the use of mine, of no value on modern Subarus.

Anyway, up to the junkyard and back (hey, we have such inspiring road-marks around here), pavement still rough and sandy and patches of melt-water flowing.  Didn't even need a jacket, although polar-fleece pants are still recommended instead of bike shorts.

10 miles, 50 minutes.
