Still windy
Feb. 14th, 2009 09:10 amThis is interfering with my contribution to the 12th Annual Great Backyard Bird Count (http://www.birdcount.org), as gusty winds make small feathered creatures seek shelter. I had hoped to enter our Whole Hells of Birds into their statistical universe, as several of the species (redpolls, crossbills, and siskins) are only occasional visitors to our shores.

I am perplexed as to why "ring-billed gull" would make the website ask me to verify my sighting for yesterday's report. The birds are more common here inland than herring gulls . . .
