Pawprints in the snow

The fog creeps in on little cat feet.
It sit on silent haunches,
Looking over harbor and city,
And then moves on.

Only, the cats* are real.  More snow this afternoon, they say . . .

*Also, squirrels, dogs, birds, maybe a skunk.

(Yeah, I'm an hour late.  Had to celebrate.  All that champagne, all that singing and dancing and silly hats, you know.)

(No, we're not staying up to EST midnight . . .)

And, for those who *are* staying up and partying . . .

The downtown street party folks should consider, in their party attire and choice of beverages, the current temperature of 11 F, with windchill -5 F.  In Celsius, that translates to Somewhat Chilly.

The real reason I was late with my (GMT) New Year's Greeting was that I was listening to the year in review by The Capitol Steps on MPBN.
