Various and sundry are hoping for an upturn on the market this morning.  Hence the Wall Street Wisdom subject line -- "Even a dead cat will bounce if you drop it far enough."

Well actually, if you drop it far enough it splatters . . .

(Edit:  No actual cats were harmed in any way in the making of this post.)

Weather Channel online suggests that if I want temperatures over 50 F for a bike ride, I'll have to wait until noon or later . . .

With the gusty winds, I decided that a stroll around the bog boardwalk might be more congenial than biking.  Wife concurred.  Pitcher plants sighted, various mushrooms, autumn leaves.  Areas under the white pines carpeted with discarded needles, silent feet.

Photos taken, which may appear on-line if any of them work out -- point-and-shoot cameras don't cope well with that kind of lighting.

In case anyone wants pictures of the bog and some pitcher plants ([livejournal.com profile] txtriffidranch ?):

(These are hand-held shots with an auto-focus point-and-shoot, so don't expect Elliot Porter quality.)
