We have gray skies and a breeze.  Rain seems to have reached southern Maine, judging by weather radar, while the center of Hanna looks to be still in North Carolina.  That's large, if not very strong.

And the Nature Center has a family canoe outing scheduled on the pond.  It figures.

Postscript:  The hurricane tracker now shows Ike rumbling through the Florida Keys and on into the Gulf, tracking towards Louisiana.  You folks down there just keep swimming, okay?

(Minor because it has gone away)

The iMac had another one of its little episodes this morning, refusing to speak to the inkjet printer.  Would print to the laser, but attempts to send an email to the inkjet would just spin for a while and then "stop" without my lifting a finger.  Worked fine yesterday, and nothing has changed or updated or even been turned off since.

Switched off the computer, unplugged the printer (maintains some memory even if turned off), "repaired permissions", and now that same email file prints okay.

Goddamn cosmic rays strike again.

*taps foot impatiently*

Those rain bands seem to have rotated out to sea and off to Canada without landing a drop on us.  Next batch projected for late afternoon.

Current theory is that the center of the storm will coincide with tonight's high tide, which could be interesting in some areas.
As I have noted before, we sit about 100' above the tide line, so if we get trouble, it's gonna be really good.
