Aug. 18th, 2008 08:43 amWell, Maine can boast of a couple of gold medals and a bronze, members of the women's and men's "eights" in rowing. Amazing how deep the local media will dig to come up with some connection to fame.
Along those lines, I don't know if Younger Son realizes it, but he shared a stage with an Olympic competitor at his Honors Convocation in undergrad days. Young woman who competes for the Ukraine had been an athletic and academic standout at the Big U. The local paper dug that one out, as well.
