Sunday roadkill report
Jul. 27th, 2008 12:53 pmRear tire blew out on the Chamberlain Bridge. Other than that, no -- repeat no -- roadkill on the entire route. Bloodstain in one area, large enough for a deer or good-sized dog, but no carcass.
As noted, this qualifies as a less-than-stellar ride. Hot (80s F), humid, no wildlife or new flora to report. Plus, got something in my eye at about mile 9, to the point where I considered calling Wife to retrieve me. It cleared up, so I (Big Fool) pushed on. When the tire blew, I was close enough to home that I walked in, rather than change the tube by the side of the road. (I carry two spares, with tire tools and a pump, because some of my rides get . . . remote.)
So I get to buy a couple of new tires (replace both of them) and a new tube tomorrow.
27.33 miles. Time irrelevant.
