We are not drowned, or cowering in candle-lit storm cellar waiting for the tornado sirens to cease wailing . . .

One small mammal, with interested crow.  I couldn't tell, riding in the opposite lane, whether that was a scrap of squirrel or maybe a weasel or wood-rat.  Not much identifiable left.

The rains ceased, the roads dried off, I biked.  Not much to report beyond the unusual color of the sky.  I thought we'd run out of blue paint.

Ragweed blooming.

Mowed the still-wet lawn after dinner, using the resurrected gas mower.  It works.  Which is good, because the rains have given our mix of weeds and grass a bit of a head start.  Worked up a sweat even with fossil-fuel power.

Ten thousand brave dinosaurs died to bring you the Great American Lawn.
