Gloom

Gray, Monday, and the recent post by wcg -- all pretty much of a muchness.

We didn't get any rain overnight, in spite of forecasts otherwise.  And (although you might not guess it by reading this venue) we could use some rain.  Forest and brush fire 'way Down East over the weekend, 100+ acres burned.

Got prints on the laundry project this morning, dropped them off at the contractor, and have a meeting with Code Enforcement tomorrow to discover what they really wanted.  Well, they have a good history both with me and with the contractor, so shouldn't be too adversarial.

Dropped mower over at the Toro dealer with instructions that we don't want to spend a lot of money.  You can quit laughing now.

And in other gloomy observations

I note that we are, as a nation and military establishment, doing the same bang-up job in training the Taliban and allowing them to develop their capabilities as we did for the NVA/VC and the Iraqi insurgents.  It takes years to develop a good guerrilla force and infrastructure.
