Thursday roadkill report
Jun. 26th, 2008 02:31 pmGray squirrel, red squirrel, couple of chipmunks, woodchuck. Hamlet for the sciuridae -- everybody dies. The woodchuck committed suicide sometime between my ride out on Mount Hope and my return -- Wife has declined the offer of fresh meat for tonight's stew.
Clouds look like they are getting organized and electing union reps, but no rain or thunder yet. Warm and damp, light wind. Not ideal bike weather, but forecast is for MOTS right into next week.
Haying started in a couple of fields, wild roses blooming in forest and bog.
"So I'll wait for the wild rose that's waitin' for me
"Where the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea."
