Not yet raining/snowing. 

Small group of pine grosbeaks in one of the ornamental trees down the street this morning.  Very tame -- they sit there chomping on fruit and keep a beady eye on you, but aren't about to let a mere human interfere with breakfast.  Not as bad as Canada jays or chickadees, which will actually land and perch on people if they think you might have food...

Wife and I just returned from an evening (well, night*) stroll, as the rain has ceased and stars are appearing in the black velvet sky.  Or some such literary trope or kenning.  Anyway, the sidewalks had a distinct greasy feel underfoot in places, and I don't think we were indulging in Slug Skiing.  Temperature may be in the upper 30s F, but the ground has had a chance to soak up cold and store it.

More accident reports coming soon, to a newspaper near you.

* Sun now sets before 4:00 PM.
