Well, actually, I think drivers caused most of those accidents.  And added to the severity of them along the way, like the truck driver killed when his "jack-knife" skid ejected him from the passenger side of his semi cab -- he wasn't belted in...

Winter driving tips (regarding previous post)

The main rule of winter driving is, "Slow the hell down."  Secondary rule would be, "If in doubt, don't."  Few winter road conditions wouldn't be covered by one or the other rule.

The other thing to remember, if you have a big-ass SUV with momentum out the wazoo, is that four-wheel or all-wheel drive doesn't help your brakes a damn bit...

(Anti-lock braking is a lovely innovation, on the other hand.  Buy it.)
