Tuesday roadkill report
Oct. 23rd, 2007 10:10 amSquashed squirrel, muskrat pancake. One bit of roadkill I forgot to mention in the plethora of Sunday, an orange-and-white kittycat about half a mile from that injured doe. Folks, if you live five miles back in the woods, don't let your pet roam. That animal was a walking twinky for any coyote, fisher, or great horned owl, even if it escaped the 60 mph log trucks...
Rain coming, green globs on the radar map. I got out a bit earlier than usual for my bike ride. Warm for the season, about 60 F, but that's about to change. Lot of leaves down now. Still a good autumnal vista out over the golf course to the hills where I rode on Sunday.
Don't have a clue why the East Millinocket ambulance was cruising along at polite and legal speed through the bog, a good many miles from their home turf and not en-route to hospitals.
15.30 miles, 1:06:25
If I manage to squeak in another couple of rides, I'll reach 1300 miles for the year. We'll see.
