Another brilliant morning, leaves glowing as they float down from the trees.  If you want to enjoy autumn, New England is the place.

Okay, so the Sox plan on breaking their fans' hearts at the highest possible level this year.  Winning in 2004 just made the possibility more real, for a greater disappointment.

Also, I wonder how many of the Colorado games will be snowed out...

I still find channel-flipping from baseball to ice hockey ... disturbing.

Muggsy, the other next-door cat, has taken to bird-watching at our feeders.  This does not threaten the birds, as he is fat, fat, fat, a lard ball on four slow paws.  But he wishes the feathered cat-entertainment would stay around when he settles in to watch.

And in various other Maine municipalities.  We (not Old Town) reached 83 F this afternoon, one degree shy of the record for the date.  This is about 30 degrees higher than "normal" (a curious concept when applied to Maine weather...)

Celebrated by peeling and slicing some of those greening apples, which Wife then turned into apple crisp.  Yum.

Reality returns later this week.

I'd like to meet the marketing genius who scheduled all those damned baseball games to finish after midnight.  I remember, back when Custer still had his hair, you could listen to the World Series on radio at work...

Getting too old for this.
