Gray, but brightening
Sep. 28th, 2007 09:57 amRain overnight, sprinkles during newspaper-fetching time (I wimped out and drove -- just so the paper wouldn't get wet, of course), but snatches of sunshine now. Original forecast was for showers off and on all day, but they are not yet showing on the weather radar.
I note that the Red Sox proceed true to form, down one run in the bottom of the ninth, with the bases loaded, but Mighty Casey has struck out. Boston, thy name is Mudville. The Yankees won, of course.
More poking and prodding at POWERS this morning, reframing sections already written from first-person POV to third, and adding more "particularity" to the scenes as I go along. Non-writers may not recognize that term, but it boils down to calling something an ash or oak or birch rather than a tree. Also trying to involve more senses and immediacy.
Maybe if I make the scenes more involving, they'll involve me and I can get serious about the damned story.
