Rain.

Our local fireworks squeaked in before the storm, though southern reaches of the state appear to have not been so lucky.  Wife and I remained home and out of range of stray shot and shell (or drips) -- becoming party-poopers in our dotage.

And LJ has taken to logging me out in random fits when I wander away.  If you, gentle Mutual Friends, end up with Anonymous leaving snarkage on your entries, I will _try_ to set the record straight.  Or strait, as the case may be.

No fresh corpses lining the highways and byways of our fair county.  One of Tuesday's woodchucks remained, looking rather less pristine than before.

The rain ceased and the roads almost dried out, so I figured I should hop on the bicycle before the wet resumed.  Steamy out there.  Goldenrod now starting to bloom, Queen Anne's lace, and I suspect I've seen the first insidious spike of the damned purple loosestrife.

Pushed somewhat harder today, including a technique called "ankling" that  involves calf muscles in the motive power, as well as thighs.  We'll see what my calves have to say about this in a day or so...
