Still have power. Windy, rainy, gloomy, chilly, and may whatever God or Goddess you choose have pity on the runners in the Boston Marathon, which is still scheduled to go in the teeth of all of the above. I suspect that the BoSox game will not, Patriots' Day tradition or no.

Thus far, we have had a little wet snow, but the rain dissolved it with no fresh accumulation. Weather prophets expect this morning's high tide to be . . . interesting. In the ancient Chinese curse meaning of the word. Combining a storm surge with an east wind, 20' waves, and astronomical "spring" tides. Our personal residence, as previously noted, sits about 100' above mean high water, and should be safe.

Reports of wind gusts over 80 mph along the coast, some areas over 6" of rain. We retain power, although the basement is gurgling.

"Weather" is projected to continue into tomorrow.

*An ancestor of ours shows up in Pepys, several times. Spelling varies.
