Chickadee excavation continues
Mar. 31st, 2007 11:41 amThe birds continue to work on their hole in the rowan tree. I'm not sure what long-term effect this will have on the Celtic magic associated with rowans -- I admit to a certain bias that chickadees improve anything.
Wife is concerned that they will actually start nesting, rather than sticking to home-improvements. Too early. The scientific literature includes studies of climate change throwing nest and fledgling schedule out of whack with the bugs, etc, that parent birds need to stuff down those gaping little beaks. I know the chickadees have a thing for little green caterpillars for the youngsters, and little green caterpillar season is still a month or more off.
