News bites and photo ops yesterday about the Presidential Pardon of the Presidential Turkey. However, I note in today's paper that the First Family's menu for the festive day includes roasted free-range turkey...

Speaking of which, Wife pondered _why_ a turkey would need a pardon. What dastardly turkey-deeds would lead to conviction on a capital charge? I reminded her of the innate character of farm turkeys, to which we were exposed once long ago, living on a mini-farm in Michigan. Domestic turkeys are just about the dumbest avians in the known universe, capable of drowning in their own water dish.

None of this applies to the wild turkeys we see around here.

The chicken took _much_ longer to roast than Wife expected, but finally capitulated. And in the process, we came up with a new kitchen appliance.

You've maybe heard of a convective oven. We have now created an invective oven.
