Tuesday roadkill report
Sep. 19th, 2006 01:47 pmA couple of flattened turtles, 3"-4" range, probably "painted" species but difficult to tell due to subsequent damage.
Damp and cloudy earlier, sunny and humid now, went for another bike ride in a valiant-but-probably-doomed effort to catch up with mileage lost to the painting effort. Gusty wind, crosswise to the two long legs of my ride, aggravating. More asters blooming, large to small, violent purple to nearly pure white, plus goldenrod and other fall flowers. No sign of the turkeys.
Minor amusement on the pigeon-loft apartment renovations this morning. One branch of the local government is taking issue with our "studio" unit mix, because they don't want a rooming-house or SRO situation. Another branch wants the smaller low-income units as well as larger one-bedroom apartments. I shall allow the client to fight this battle, and will make whatever changes he deems necessary. One of the joys of the hourly-rate project...
Forecast for rain tonight, into tomorrow.
Arrr, matey! Some bilge-water lubber has changed the update button to call this a Captain's Log. Don't call me sir, I work for a living!
