Tuesday roadkill report
Jul. 18th, 2006 11:01 amTwo flat muskrats, about a mile apart out in the bog. Don't know what's with the muskrats -- maybe they have a marijuana plantation back in the woods, get stoned, and come out to dance the Watusi on the road under the light of the moon.
Or something.
Tried to get out for my bike ride while we still had overcast. No such luck -- the sun broke through the morning fog just as I saddled up. Which also tells you the humidity level out there. So I held back a bit on the energy level, stopped to smell the ragweed, that sort of thing. Goldenrod and Queen Anne's lace, more cornflowers, vetch, hop clover, the mid-summer field panoply in full bloom. Bellflowers and day lilies in our yard.
Supposed to be cooler tomorrow, less humidity, after a rousing round of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.
