Thursday roadkill report
Jun. 22nd, 2006 12:41 pmOne fresh porcupine, up near the golf course. We shall hope he left a few quills in the fatal tire.
Not-roadkill: one great blue heron fishing in the pond at the closer cemetery. I haven't seen one there this year, although they have been present in the past.
Windy and warm, not ideal bicycle weather, but have to get in those miles. Some of the farmers have started haying -- tedding* cut hay in one field, baler parked in another, but with thunderstorms forecast for today and the next few days, they are pushing the edge.
Today's ride puts me over 600 miles for the year.
*LJ spellcheck doesn't recognize "tedding" as a word. Bunch of city-dwelling nerds.
15.26 miles**, 1:07:33
**same route as usual, just pumped up the tires...
