One muskrat corpse out in the location where I reported a live muskrat last week, chowing down on the roadside greenery. That one won't breed. I wonder how many generations will pass before asphalt-avoidance genes start to dominate the muskrat population...

We have sun this morning. Since that basically cranks up the thunderstorm generator under current conditions, I grabbed a bike ride while I could. Rhodora blooming out in the bog, along with the apple and cherry trees -- shadbush almost done, lilacs just starting.

And behold, I bring glad tidings of great joy -- the roofers are applying shingles to our neighbor's roof! Don't know if they'll beat the aforementioned thunderstorms.
