Copyedit of DRAGON'S TEETH thumped between the storm door and the front door yesterday. I have been imitating a wary cat ever since, walking around it and occasionally batting at it with a tentative paw and then hissing at it. It hasn't moved. Maybe it won't bite.

Guess I'll have to actually _do_ something about it today.

(The preceding bit represents hyperbolic exaggeration. My previous copyedits have not been that traumatic. Just time-consuming.)

So I won't be writing or doing much internet stuff today, and maybe for several days beyond.

So while I'm gone and not entertaining my vast audience, folks, go out and buy books. You won't have authors to kick around if you don't buy books.

I think my eyes have scanned enough type for one day. About a quarter through the manuscript.

Minor oddity on the copy-edit -- we must have a surplus of commas running around, because we've added a bunch. But they are offset by hyphens removed. How many of you would prefer "half brother" to "half-brother"? Wife's comment on the first usage was, "Which half do you want, top or bottom?"
