In the proper mood of scientific inquiry, I just performed an experiment. Standing in our kitchen with the lights off, no other lights on downstairs at all, I could read newspaper headlines by the glow coming from our neighbor's Xmas decorations. I tried at two different windows, one aimed south and the other north. East and west could not be used, as streetlights in those directions interfered with data.
In other news of mild amusement, the LJ comment emails continue to trickle into my inbox. The order seems . . . odd, with one comment showing up a day after the comment that answered _that_.
