Ominous signs
Sep. 13th, 2005 11:06 amReturning from the morning bike ride, I spotted a bird of ill omen: Sewer project crew unloading a track drill from a low-boy trailer on the second block of our street.
For those outside the nomenclature, a track drill is an air-powered drill, mounted on a crawler chassis. They usually appear in the vicinity of impending doom, I.E. blasting operations. Given that this is glaciated terrain and the location is a low ridge, I would suspect either shallow bedrock or a large glacial erratic (boulder.)
Boom.
Since that location is right in front of Elder Son's apartment building, I suspect he and his apartment-mates may be in for an interesting day.
