One crawler backhoe, two bucket loaders, two 5-yard dump trucks, a metal frame for shoring up excavations, and five miscellaneous hard-hats staring down into a hole. We have decided that we do not need to go anywhere today.

Pity the neighbor across the street -- she runs a daycare operation in her house, with parents delivering and picking up kids all day....

And Wife currently dithers over whether she dares start the Wednesday Laundry. That hole sits adjacent to our water main.

Mailed the revised GHOST POINT to Ms. Agent Lady yesterday. Now to reset the brain to PENDRAGON AUTUMN and a different mythos.

Who was the brilliant individual who came up with "Harvey" as a name for a tropical storm? Talk about getting no respect. No wonder the poor little thing is headed straight out into the Atlantic, hiding from any major audience....
