One crawler backhoe, two bucket loaders, two 5-yard dump trucks, a metal frame for shoring up excavations, and five miscellaneous hard-hats staring down into a hole. We have decided that we do not need to go anywhere today.

Pity the neighbor across the street -- she runs a daycare operation in her house, with parents delivering and picking up kids all day....

And Wife currently dithers over whether she dares start the Wednesday Laundry. That hole sits adjacent to our water main.

Mailed the revised GHOST POINT to Ms. Agent Lady yesterday. Now to reset the brain to PENDRAGON AUTUMN and a different mythos.

There's a scaffolding tower outside my front room window just now - they're mending the chimney pots on the tenements - ours and the two on either side.

Large skips on the roadside outside the building, builders' trucks, piles of bricks, cement mixer, hods and bags of cement, makes parking fun.
