According to news reports, Maine logged 6 traffic fatalities over the Glorious Fourth. This in comparison to none for each of the two past years. I was not one of the statistics. I hope that none of you dear readers succumbed....
We also avoided any chimney damage from the low-flying KC 135 of the Maine Air Guard, swinging over the town parade to add patriotic noise, and recorded no errant rockets from the fireworks. All in all, satisfactory.
Page proofs arrived for DRAGON'S EYE, thereby cancelling all leave for the next few days until the crisis passes. I got a few more paragraphs in on AUTUMN this morning, including a Scots pine turning into a Maine white pine to make Maureen happy. Gotta keep an eye on those enchanted forests.
Nothing notable on the morning bike ride, except enough wind that my time sucked. The paving job through the bog is finished, even with lines striped for everybody to ignore.
