Suicidal small furry things
Jun. 23rd, 2005 12:52 pmHad a chipmunk attempt to commit honorable seppuku under my wheels this morning. This becomes somewhat more . . . intimate . . . on a bicycle. I suspect that one achieved its Darwin Award nomination from the car behind me.
Oh well, as Wife says, there are more where that came from.
Another item of some puzzlement on the ride -- came across a fire truck, ambulance, and two cop cars hovering around another car wedged under a fallen tree about sixty feet off the pavement. Now, it _looked_ like the tree had crunched the car, but I happen to remember when that tree broke off in a storm about two-three years back. Asleep at the wheel? OUI?
Since I spend so much time complaining about the weather, I hereby record that the day has verged upon sublime, with clear sun, light wind, and temperatures in the 70s F. This too shall pass away.

*Same route as last ride, pumped up tires, made .06 miles difference in the mileage.
