Well, the LOCUS website says that a Certain Book shall be reviewed in their upcoming (January) magazine issue, which just mailed. I don't pay them extra to get my copy first-classed, so I can spend the next three weeks chewing my nails over whether Faren Miller loves me or loves me not, while the USPS dithers over delivery.

Well, the rest of the year I don't really care when my copy shows up.

What could have been a standard hero-to-magic tale...takes some interesting twists. This fantasy is also overtly feminist but free of "PC" pontification.

...Whether it's a standalone, expands into a series, or eventually inspires some bold TV producer to rise to the challenge, it should stay in the right percentile of Sturgeon's Law.

There's more, but that oughta save your stomach lining.

Any TV producers out there may contact my agent ASAP. I'm sure we can work something out.

Thank you. That does ease the gastric juices a bit.

And have your sales suffered from that lack? If everyone who reads LOCUS bought your book, you might not even notice the blip. Their circulation can't be classed as large....

(I suspect that they think JIN SHEI isn't genre.)

Who's talking about "Jin shei"? There's two fantasy books out there right now which could do with a fillip...

Oops. Sorry.

Maybe they got lost in the shadows from all that glare of publicity?

But I think my comment on the LOCUS effect may still stand. Large frog, very small pond.
