Windchill

Air temperature around 15F this noon, with winds gusting up to 20 MPH. Our neighbor's cat keeps cycling between front door, shed door, and around the far side where I can't see but I know they have a glass slider. May not be looking for The Door Into Summer, but definately seeking The Door Outta Winter.

Wife has pled cowardice and demurred from our usual afternoon walk. I may go without her, as I have better cold-weather gear. I go skiing in this sort of weather, but we don't have enough snow.

Meanwhile, haven't actually started on Chapter VI yet, as I'm sorting out how to set up something. Local chief of police doesn't like wizards, particularly ones that carry concealed weapons.

Leaving a housecat out in that kind of weather is cruel. Even a barn cat needs to have a shelter out of the cold.

Nikita (the cat) does have shelter inside the shed. At least in the past, that included an insulated cave of her very own, food, and liquid water. As opposed to the solid water outside.

Operating on hearsay, but I am informed that Nikita would have Warm and Inside, were it not for some unfortunate tendencies toward the furniture when people were not around. Sorta like Bet's TCKiE, I believe.
