Neighbor watching fun

North Neighbor has unearthed a section of pipe in his driveway excavation, ongoing. Looks like black or galvanized iron, 1 1/2", running in along the driveway to an ell and heading thence toward the side of his house. As it is broken and not gushing anything, I presume an old gas line from the city's gas light era, long discontinued. Treasure hunt continues.
