The couple of times I've been to the supermarket since the shit hit the fan, the beer coolers, the wine aisle, and the liquor section have all been fully stocked. Facing the end of the world sober???

Most people in your neighbourhood figure they still have stuff/people to lose if they get drunk now, maybe? Or they figure they'll be the one to Save the World, and they want to be able to enjoy the memory if they're right...
