Soup

That's the air outside. Rain overnight and this morning, things were getting so dry. Advanced from steam bath to soup. And not a thin soup, either. More like a cream of mushroom made with double-reduced chicken stock -- the mushrooms give the proper aroma of fungus.

Dew points in the mid seventies today, temperatures in the eighties. And the air has that bite of ozone again.

Mother black duck and 5-6 half-grown ducklings in the stream downtown, crows chasing something out at the airport that _might_ have been that cooper's hawk again. I _think_ I have the calibration worked out on the bike computer.

Got pretty much to the end of a chapter in GHOST POINT, Grendel's mother is in deep trouble. We'll see what happens when Beowulf gets back from the coffee shop.

Storms just through here -- was able to watch close to real time on wunderground as the storm came through here, and said to Sharon -- if we go to the front door we ought to be able to see the sun now... even while we were getting terrific rumbles from the south and southwest.

Temp went from 85 to 74 outside; now moving back up of course.

Hey, and guess what? Things are supposed to be a bit better until Tuesday afternoon.

Thunderstorm through here about mid-afternoon, downpour, sun's out again and making the roof steam. Must have been the same cell you got.

Yeah. But you live in Texas. If I wanted this sort of crap, I could have taken over my mother's house in Atlanta instead of living in the frozen wastes of Maine.

We had some rain after I wrote that. Quite a lot of rain, actually. Current (22:15) figures: 85F, 88% humidity, for a heat index of 97. And Russ is out printing stuff in it, and trying not to let sweat drops fall into the ink.

I purely love this line.

It rained this morning, quite hard, so that was taken care of for the day.
