Temperatures in the 20s F this morning (-3 C) and prospect of "mixed precip" this evening. November marches along.

In other news, Maine voters defeated an attempt to defeat (yeah, it gets convoluted) equal rights legislation for all you queers out there. This vote should not be construed as providing for gay marriage, says so right there in the fine print, and likewise represents no cause for complacency. Approximately 45% of the voting public would like to be free to continue to discriminate based on etc.

We also seem to have passed a gazillion bond issues, raising that TANSTAAFL question I mentioned yesterday. As always, a large chunk represents deferred maintenance....

(You can pay me now or pay me later, like the guy in the oil-filter ad says.)

Finished up the draft of Chapter 1 on SIGNATURES yesterday and passed it along to my first reader, AKA Wife. She thinks it has possibilities.

Of the bond issues, it seems the only one defeated was the one sought to upgrade educational facilities at the college and university levels. Those bridges will all be nice and strong so the young folks can drive away to college out of state...

Go Maine.

Where 55% believes them queers aren't deserving of wrath. At least, not initially, it appears...
