According to my SMOTU agent-in-place in the NYPL, Kirkus didn't wax enthusiastic over DRAGON'S EYE. "Middling" was the word she quoted. OTOH, I don't think they even deigned to notice SUMMER COUNTRY or WINTER OAK, so maybe this represents a step up. I have reached a level where they think I'm worth swatting...

And those grapes were probably sour, anyway.

Just keep writing. Who needs critics?
Okay, maybe the publishers read the critics. But I don't. I listen to friends with similar tastes.

Still looking for Winter Oak.

I completely agree with the previous writer. I though Summer Country was really good, and I've been recommending it to some friends. My pre-order for the paperback of Winter Oak has been in place since Spring, and I can't wait for the book to appear.

The mass-market paperback of WINTER OAK comes out at the same time (plus/minus publishing vagaries) as the trade paperback of DRAGON'S EYE. And no, it shouldn't be "AUTUMN EYE" -- DRAGON'S EYE isn't in the same series. Nor is DRAGON'S TEETH, the next one up. I'm currently _supposed_ to be working on PENDRAGON AUTUMN, the sequel to SC and WO, but life keeps getting in the way of the necessary momentum.

Ah, well...maybe you can tie everything together with dragon's season or maybe seasonal body parts...

Did you think "seasoned body parts" at all, because that's what I thought I saw. And when you're talking about dragons...

And to add confusion to the mix, the books with dragons in the titles don't have dragons in the story...

(The flagon with the dragon holds the brew that is true...)
