Appointing incompetent political cronies to high government position is an ancient and common practice of this land. It long predates both Democans and Republicrats.

Most of the time, it doesn't matter.

Keep in mind that you are swinging a broad brush. Both our US senators are officially Republicans, and the hostile targets of anti-abortion ads regarding the supreme court nomination.

Just like all Democrats are not in favor of nationalizing the healthcare sector....
