Swamp maples starting to turn red out in the bog. They're about the first trees to turn, except for drought-stressed or otherwise dying specimens, but the rest won't be far behind. Beautiful day in the neighborhood, blue sky, temps in the 60s F, little wind.
No roadkill to report, except the road itself -- the PTBs have ground off the surface of US 2 from the cemetery up to Chase Road, in preparation for new paving. I've already expressed my opinion on this. Fresh paving should appear by magic, without intervening difficulties for aging bicyclists.
