The monster that ate Maple Street

The Sewer Project From Hell has arrived, a big mother pavement grinder shaking the house even as I type. It went north along the street a while back, Wife went out for her Monday chores, and now the bastard is headed back south. I suspect she is trapped somewhere on the far side.... (Insert Gary Larson cartoon here.)

Thus begins a month of questionable access to the rest of the world, noise, and dust, with diesel-powered badgers tearing up the ground and cutting off utilities at odd moments. I am a little surprised that we still have phone service (and thus internet) as the main cable comes across to our street underground.

All this is in aid of the environment, folks, separating storm water from sanitary sewage. PITA.
